What pcos checkup is

PCOS is assessed from a combination of symptoms, menstrual and medical history, examination and selected tests while excluding other causes. Ultrasound can contribute, but ovarian appearance alone does not diagnose PCOS, and not everyone needs the same test panel.

Published prices in the UAE

A limited number of UAE providers publish prices on their own websites. Where there are not enough comparable published prices, this page shows no range rather than a misleading one. Ask the provider for a written price setting out what it includes and excludes.

Why prices differ

Price varies with clinician consultation, number and timing of hormone tests, metabolic screening, pelvic ultrasound and follow-up. Packages with similarly long lists may omit different essential components.

What to compare in each offer

Confirm a gynaecology or endocrinology review, the exact named blood tests, whether fasting or cycle timing matters, pelvic ultrasound route and report, and a clinician follow-up to interpret the combined findings.

Insurance and coverage

Consultation and medically indicated tests may be covered when ordered in-network, while broad wellness or fertility bundles may not be. Each laboratory test and ultrasound can have separate referral or approval requirements. Confirm them before booking.

What to expect

The clinician asks about cycles, symptoms, medicines, weight and family history before choosing tests. Blood collection and ultrasound may be scheduled separately or timed to the cycle. Results should be reviewed together, not as isolated flags.

Suitability and limitations

Package results cannot diagnose PCOS without clinical interpretation, and normal ultrasound does not necessarily exclude it. Hormone values vary with timing and medicines. New severe pelvic pain or heavy bleeding needs clinical assessment rather than a routine package.

Choosing a provider

Choose a provider that starts with clinician assessment and explains why each test is ordered. Confirm who interprets the combined results, how other causes are excluded and whether treatment planning is included or billed separately.

Frequently asked questions

Is there one test for PCOS?

No. Diagnosis combines clinical features and selected tests while excluding other causes.

Does ultrasound diagnose PCOS?

Not by itself; ovarian appearance is only one possible part of assessment.

Do tests need cycle timing?

Some may; follow the ordering clinician’s instructions.

Do I need to fast?

Some metabolic tests may require it; confirm before attending.

Does insurance cover the work-up?

It may when medically indicated and ordered in-network.

Is treatment included?

Usually not unless the package explicitly includes follow-up and treatment planning.
