Dr. Alexandra Economacos

Radiologists use scans like X-rays, ultrasounds, CT, and MRI to look inside your body and figure out what's going on. They help diagnose injuries, illnesses, and other conditions that you can't see from the outside.

Dr Alexandra Economacos is a consultant radiologist whose practice is dedicated to breast imaging. She graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1992, completed a Diploma in Anaesthesia in 1994 and became a Fellow of the College of Radiologists of South Africa in 1999. Since moving to Dubai in 2008, she has helped establish a dedicated breast-imaging service. Her work covers mammography, including 3D and contrast studies, ultrasound, MRI, image-guided core and vacuum biopsy, and pre-operative localisation. She also teaches medical students at Mohammed Bin Rashid University.
