Associate Professor Walid Shaker is a consultant cardiac surgeon at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital with more than 28 years of cardiothoracic-surgery experience. He trained at universities and cardiac centres in Paris and Lyon, including fellowships in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, and has practised in the UAE for 15 years. His work includes complex coronary bypass, valve repair and replacement, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, thoracic-aorta surgery and operations for arrhythmias, adult congenital disease and cardiac or mediastinal tumours.
